Reddy* or Not... Christmas is Coming!

Nothing says Christmas like the colour RED… Here’s a dress for anything this festive season can throw at you!

It takes a certain kind of confidence to wear an all-over red look. Indeed, any bright, bold colour will turn heads when worn in abundance! But red is altogether another proposition: indicative of danger, aggression and even war, red simultaneously signifyies willpower, warmth, love and leadership. This polarising primary appeals and repels in equal measure! With the rise of Instagram, fashion brands have seen an increase in demand for colourful pieces, such is the power of a punchy colour on the ‘gram! And red, is clearly no exception.

This mini, bodycon LRD (little red dress) by Chi Chi London is the perfect option for the holiday season. Whether you’re enduring a digital Christmas, Zooming remotely with family, out celebrating with your nearest and dearest at a restaurant, or you’re whisked away for a romantic, hotel retreat, the Kailee dress will fit the bill.

Paired with ballet flats at home (or indeed slippers!), the stretchy fabric will allow for the inevitable festive food baby! If you’re out at a glamorous venue, a patent red heel will work like a charm, and if you’re in a more romantic mood, go all out with over-the-knee boots (red, of course, if you can)!

I particularly love the sweetheart neckline and strong, puff shoulders of this dress. On Zoom, as we’ve all come to realise, it’s really only your top half that counts, so make sure it’s high impact with this gorgeous frame for your décolletage - same rule applies across a candlelit dinner table, by the way!

Add a touch more glamour with a statement earring to allow the neckline space to breathe and work it’s magic. I favour diamanté with red, buy if you’re a gold girl, that will work equally well. The dress would also work nicely with a belt, but make sure it’s a skinny one, in a similar tone, so as not to chop your frame in two.
